I am an independent management consultant, strategist and researcher with a background in the technology industry. I consult to organizations in various industries and sectors and currently have a particular specialization in the modernization of the Canadian broadcast media industry (broadcasters, media agencies, audience data). I provide services in:• Management consulting: Advisory services and executive coaching to help close the execution gap. Focus on identifying and building creative, inclusive, and collaborative solutions that can be embraced and sustained by everyone.• Product management & innovation: Advisory services to help organizations introduce and run product management and engineering functions. Informed by best practices such as Pragmatic Marketing and agile software development. Assistance with recruitment for key positions. Team coaching for continued success.• Technology/IT advisory: Assistance with IT strategy, procurement & vendor selection, program management of strategic software development programs - particularly for nonprofits and/or organizations without executive IT resources. I also act as an interim executive where required.• Strategy: Strategy is a collaborative effort that should involve participants from different levels and business functions in an organization, not just executives. This way, strategy and execution become connected, continuously integrated, and co-owned by all stakeholders. I act as a planner, facilitator or coach.• Qualitative research/ethnography: Transformative and actionable insights to identify, articulate, re-frame, and solve difficult problems using a social science approach. Focus on business-to-business (B2B) research with customers, partners, and service users. Senior strategic capabilities in UX research, including an active interest in building strategic research teams or capabilities within product organizations.I frequently partner with other consultants, specialists and firms to more effectively assist my clients.I hold a graduate degree in anthropology from the University of Toronto, where I co-founded the Ethnography Lab in 2014.☛ I *never* want to be contacted by: people trying to sell marketing services to independent consultants; financial advisors; or purveyors of bespoke suits.
