Carter Andersen is a Shareholder with Bush Ross, P.A. in Tampa, Florida. Carter has extensive experience handling complex civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts and in alternative dispute resolution settings, including arbitration and mediation. Carter is certified as a Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court. Before joining Bush Ross, Carter practiced general commercial litigation, antitrust litigation, and white collar crime defense with Jones Day in Washington, D.C. Carter currently serves as the President of the Tampa Bay Chapter of Legatus. He also serves on the Florida Bar Board of Governors and the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida College of Law. Carter also has served on the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Board of Directors, where he served as President in 2015. And for 12 years from 2010 to 2022, Carter served on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, chairing the JNC in 2012-2013 and in 2020-2021. Carter also has served on the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation's Board of Directors and the Florida Bar Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.Carter is a graduate of the Leadership Tampa Class of 2006 and Leadership Florida Class XXXIII. Carter has been active in a variety of community and civic activities including being a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, serving as a volunteer tutor at Academy Prep Center of Tampa, and serving on the Board for Tampa Bay Little League. He served as the President of the Christ the King Catholic School Dads Club from 2008 to 2010.Carter has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America from 2010 to 2022.
