Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer. While I was working on my degree, I worked for Newport News Shipbuilding as an M53 indoor machinist apprentice and also worked for Fairlead Integrated as a CNC machinist. Both these roles have taught me valuable industry skills. I learned how to fabricate high precision parts and read technical drawings. In those roles, I also worked with engineers and planners to come up with drawings for specific parts that had not been made yet or that needed to be modified. Previous to those opportunities, I work for a couple companies as an intern with the first being Keller America. At Keller America, I learned all about soldering and building hydrostatic pressure sensors. Next I found myself at Rolls Royce North America as a Intern. There, I learned how to maintain CNC machines and keep tools and work materials to the Rolls Royce 5S standards. My last internship was at Sumitomo Drive Technologies. Here I interfaced directly with shop floor personnel to generate inventory reports and cycle time reports to aid in establishing cost models. I also worked with open order reports to understand on part delivery status.
