As a Managing Member of Tuna Construction, Carter Rownd learned the value of hard work at an early age when he got his start by helping his father, a master ship builder of over 30 years at Avondale Shipyard, and brother, the other Managing Member of Tuna Construction, build their camp in the Manchac Swamp. Summers were spent working on neighbor’s camps performing all aspects of marine construction. Carter grew up in River Ridge and attended Christian Brothers School in City Park, then Jesuit High School until his parents moved back to their roots in Hammond, LA. After earning his degree in Construction Management from Louisiana State University, he became a licensed commercial building contractor. Carter joined Tuna Construction in 2012 as a Managing Member alongside Patrick Rownd and has since helped grow the company to what it is today. With over 20 years of construction experience on his own, he has assembled at team of skilled and seasoned industry professionals who embrace the same vision of customer service and quality craftsmanship. Tuna Construction has completed a variety of complex projects for its private and public sector clients demanding the extreme attention to detail. Tuna Construction is heavily involved in historical commercial renovations around the city ranging from schools in Mid City to hotels in the French Quarter. Tuna Construction has recently built a new home office from Kenner to Westwego that will allow the space needed to grow for generations to come.
