Conducted a radio study of star-planet interaction. Analyzed data sets from the Very Large Array and the Australia Telescope Compact Array using a RedHat Linux remote desktop and the Python-based Common Astronomy Software Application (CASA) analysis package. Developed modular Python scripts to streamline the data analysis. Researched radio telescope observation techniques such as interferometry. Wrote a scientific paper with the results of my search for star-planet interaction, and compared the data to current theoretical models of radio power generated from star-planet interaction. My team plans to publish this paper in a peer-reviewed journal in 2022.

Served as the Chief Lab Assistant for the indoor astronomy labs and outdoor observing sessions. Led a team of five lab assistants teaching coursework and running night observation sessions. Assisted with astronomy course instruction and laboratory operations for a class of 64 students. Led night observation sessions with computerized Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. Reviewed and graded online coursework.

Worked on a research team focused on the development of florescent and phosphorescent tools for the United States Navy. Researched and implemented novel techniques for electrostamping metal plates. Prepared samples of inorganic chemical compounds for testing and evaluation. Was responsible for defining and enforcing safety procedures in the chemistry lab, including proper handling and storage of toxic chemicals, proper usage of a chemical fume hood, and how to clean surfaces exposed to hazardous chemicals.

Performed an antenna propagation analysis of the very high frequency (VHF) and ultra high frequency (UHF) antenna suite installed on the Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules aircraft. Performed a link budget analysis for the RF pathways for the C-130J. Wrote a technical paper and developed a customer deliverable presentation detailing the approach, findings, and recommendations from the technical study.

Tutored K-12 students in mathematics. Mentored students on developing mathematical skillsets in the areas of basic arithmetic, geometry, statistics, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus.
