CurrentManaged the design and installation of a 133mm Twin Screw Extrusion line with interchangeable strand and underwater pelletizing capabilities.-Supervised a team of 6+ people including maintenance and fabrication personnel.-Managed the modification of the purchased extruder which required complete disassembly and the addition of barrel sections and screw elements. -Designed and completed the layout of all auxiliary equipment as well as all required mechanical systems including water, air and hydraulic piping.-Designed the operator HMI that allowed for control of the extruder and all auxiliary equipment in a single interface using the Ignition platform.Implemented Inductive Automation's Ignition SCADA system plantwide.-Created a new historical charts program which allowed for easy access to historical data of machine conditions as well as offered real time overview screens that allowed management and supervisors to quickly assess how each production line was performing in real time.-Developed replacement HMI screens for the two largest production lines that incorporated real time quality control metrics, and was able to replace several manual methods of data collection with automated processes.-Created an inventory program that kept track of all pelletizing dies.Managed the design and construction of a loss in weight continuous blending system that was capable of blending two products at a rate of 12,000 lbs/hour.-Required interfacing Mettler Toledo scales and VFDs with an Allen Bradley PLC, and implementing PID control of the airlocks based on hopper weight.
