My first job was in the United States Navy as a Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class. There I learned a fantastic base of professionalism and leadership. I spent four years on the USS Curts as a supervisor and mentor to junior sailors. My work as a maintenance supervisor earned me a Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal. After I was honorably discharged I spent the next year in a retail sales position at The Home Depot. After I left Home Depot I was hired as a logistics associate at Academy Sports + Outdoors. Both of these retail employers were extremely beneficial to me in teaching me valuable customer service and communication skills. My most recent position was as an Accounting Assistant for Sunbelt Industrial Services in Fort Worth, Texas. I worked there doing common clerical and data entry tasks, as well as processing payments and accounts payable experience. I worked there until I was let go in May of 2019. I am now currently pursuing a new career in the IT industry. I am working towards CompTIA A+ 220-1001 and MTA Security certifications.
