I am a 16-year-old high school sophomore attending Spokane Valley Tech. I am studying computer science through advanced placement classes and plan on working in computer science fields such as app development, programming, or game development. In addition to advanced placement courses at my high school, next fall I will start classes at Eastern Washington University through their Running Start program, where I will learn more about different programming languages and their logical thinking.During the 2023 - 2024 school year, I was a member of SkillsUSA's Computer Programming Competition. where I made it through regionals and placed 10th in the state. In this competition, I programmed a wide variety of applications in Java, gaining experience in the language, logical thinking, as well as experience being independent.In the future, I would like to learn more about coding languages such as C++ or C#, languages that are used commonly in computer science areas such as game development or app development, which are two areas that I am interested in. I also would like to find my first job over the summer, using that experience to learn more about independence and money management.
