The Corner Pocket Editorial Staff

South Orange, Nj, Us

The Corner Pocket is Seton Hall's campus literary magazine that is produced by students in Prof. Cara Blue Adams's Literary Editing and Publishing class. I was fortunate enough to be able to take this class during this semester where I worked on creating Instagram graphics, fliers, and even submitting my own creative work for publication. The graduate-level students enrolled in the course acted as the primary editors while the undergraduate-level students acted more as associate editors, but those titles are more formalities than anything. As a group, we worked to decide which pieces (anonymized for reading) would be put into the publication via two rounds of reading and discussion, put together reader reports, decided on the order of the accepted pieces for the issue, and went through to proof the actual publication once it was put together. I assisted one of the graduate students in actually getting all the works set into a Microsoft Publisher document to be sent off to the printers after proofreading.

History Of The English Language - Teaching Assistant

South Orange, Nj, Us

Upon completing the History of the English Language class and receiving high marks my sophomore year of college, Dr. Angela Weisl (professor of the class and Chair of the English Department) requested that I return to help students better grasp the concepts taught throughout the course. I was available as both a one-on-one tutor if students requested and as an instructing member of the hour-long office hour/study session that was hosted by the professor each week. I also ran the in-class kahoot games to help students retain the knowledge they learnt in both the previous class and in the readings that were due that day.

Impact Conference 2023 Pr/Marketing Committee

South Orange, Nj, Us

Throughout our time planning this conference, many obstacles were tackled and hurdles jumped over. Since this was the revival of the IMPACT conference on Seton Hall's Campus, not many knew that such a thing existed ever before. The PR team put together tabling events, went to the Involvement Fair at the beginning of the spring semester to pitch the conference to campus organizations, and put together and formatted all posts related to the IMPACT conference itself. With the different introduction carousels that were posted on the hallstudents Instagram, one of the main aspects was keeping within the theme branding but also working to make each slide individual and dynamic. Each behind the scenes team’s takeover posts follow the same template as the PR Team’s (added below) after coordinating all the proper information to be put on them. For the conference speaker introduction post, the primary concern was uniform formatting. I have also added both our student speaker introduction post slides and a sample of our professional speaker introduction slides (Dr. Monica Burnette).

Nov 2022 - Mar 2023

Vice President

De Kalb, Illinois, Us

Primarily in charge of organizing our weekly executive board meetings, ensuring that all of the proper avenues of advertisement are used, and helping to oversee and brainstorm for meetings. This role is primarily to assist other members of our executive board and help with presenting on topics I'm familiar with.

Apr 2022 - May 2023

Outreach Manager

De Kalb, Illinois, Us

Getting used to the new platform our university put in place for student organizations to better reach the student body, I occasionally posted articles on Engage for other students to read and keep up to date with our whereabouts. I also took the lead on coordinating meeting times and dates with both our general body and our advisors/executive board.

Mar 2021 - Apr 2022

Club Vice President

Edina, Minnesota, Us

Through this role I gained a lot of experience concerning behind the scenes operations and planning for this organization. I was able to assist in applying for funds yet again, ensuring that proper procedures were followed when we needed to send information to our parent organization in order to use their name and likeness for fundraising, and helped to plan our large campus fundraiser. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, the thrift shop fundraiser that I helped to plan had to be moved to the following semester (fall 2023).

Apr 2022 - May 2023

Club Treasurer

Edina, Minnesota, Us

Primarily in charge of ensuring that our club applied for funds from the campus Student Government Association on time in order to place orders and host events. Because this term was our inaugural year as a club, we were not allotted a budget, but instead had to apply for funds for each purchase. By doing so, I was able to track and set up a realistic budget request for the following year.

Founding Member - Theta Delta Chapter

Dublin, Ohio, Us

Feb 2020 - May 2023

Vice President Of Operations

Dublin, Ohio, Us

Primarily helping to manage chapter affairs, I had one large project per semester. In the spring, it was putting together the composite for our chapter. In the fall, it was putting together Leadership Day for our incoming and outgoing officers--a day to both reflect on what we've accomplished and gain momentum into newly confirmed roles. Moving the chapter communication to Slack was also a great achievement during this time, and getting everyone in the chapter used to the functions and such of the slack space.

Dec 2021 - Dec 2022

Ritual And History Director

Dublin, Ohio, Us

Being the first Ritual and History Director for Theta Delta chapter came with many challenges and many rewards. I was in charge of arranging the entire initiation timeline (in conjunction with the Director of New Member Education) and also providing our chapter with knowledge about Kappa's beginnings. Unfortunately, all of my time was during COVID, so I was unable to host a full in-person initiation, but my desire to help make it happen as soon as possible led me to assist heavily when it came in the Spring of 2022 semester. I also worked with a specialist to help determine what would be best to space out with when, committing to memory all secret matter and relaying that information to my peers, and writing the final report at the end of the year for the Kappa Kappa Gamma archives.

Feb 2020 - Dec 2021

Content Creator

South Orange, Nj, Us

My primary focus was running the @hallstudents Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/hallstudents/). From my first post (18 May 2021) to my last (18 May 2022), the account grew by about 1,000 followers. Specifically, the account grew from 2,508 followers to about 3,348 followers, which is a 134% increase. I also was in charge of making the posting calendar for @hallstudents, which incorporated another graduate student intern for two of the University's initiatives (Dare to Care and KNOWMORE) which I put together on a monthly basis. Constant communication was necessary for that to be successful. On top of running the @hallstudents Instagram page, I also assissted administrators and other interns with tasks as needed, such as keeping up with the engagement@shu.edu email, helping set up and take down events, and ensuring that everything was as organized as possible in the office.

May 2021 - May 2022

Sales Advisor

H&M

Stockholm, Stockholm County, Se

Working in sales, selling fashionable clothing for all ages, and assisting with customer questions concerning sizing and fit of products. I completed in-store purchases, handled in-store returns, and signed up customers for the H&M rewards program if they were not a member previously. Frequently, my membership scan percentage for the month was at or over 70%. I also replenished and organized merchandise in order to help keep a cohesive flow of the store's layout.

Bloomington, Minnesota, Us

Interacting with upwards of 200 customers per shift while delivering outstanding customer service and acquiring timely knowledge of SOP's and any corporate deals occurring to keep customers informed.
