Carter is a Contract Commercial Review Appraiser with over 30 years of commercial real estate experience in valuation and appraisal review, mortgage asset management, loan underwriting, and CMBS acquisitions (B-piece through AAA) with leading national real estate investment management and valuation advisory firms. Sechrest Realty Advisors was formed in 2012 to provide commercial appraisal review and consulting services to banks, special servicers and other clients located throughout the United States. Carter offers a unique perspective from extensive experience in a wide array of disciplines in addition to appraisal/appraisal review, as well as broad geographic experience with institutional and non-institutional quality properties in primary, secondary and tertiary markets located throughout the United States. Carter holds the MAI (Member of Appraisal Institute), AI-GRS (Appraisal Institute-General Review Specialist), and CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designations and has an appraisal license in multiple states.Prior to forming Sechrest Realty Advisors, Carter was a Senior Vice President and Partner of Quadrant Real Estate Advisors, LLC, and was responsible for mortgage asset management and annual valuation of a $1 billion portfolio. Prior to joining Quadrant, Carter specialized in CMBS acquisitions and loan underwriting as a Senior Vice President of GMAC Institutional Advisors and as Vice President in the Debt Advisory Group at Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, Inc. Before joining Lend Lease in 1996, Carter was a Senior Appraiser with Cushman & Wakefield and was Vice President and Branch Manager for Pederson & Trask, Inc., a regional appraisal firm located in South Florida.
