Public Policy:-Lead the development of NBHP’s public policy priorities-Create and lead NBHP’s biennial legislative strategy for legislative engagement at the state level, including leading Advocacy 10 trainings 3x/year+ and a Greater Houston Behavioral Health Legislative Forum 1x/year -Drive NBHP’s relationship with legislators at the state level, including delivering oral and written testimony at the Texas Capitol in Austin 10x or more during session and beyond-Lead/engage in legislative affairs at the state and local level-Lead NBHP Public Policy Committee (10+ members) monthly meetings, including scheduling, note-taking, facilitating the meeting- Apply for grants, with guidance from NBHP Executive Director, including data compiling -Manage Policy Program budgetSpecial Projects:- Lead NBHP Projects Committee (10+ members) monthly meetings: scheduling, note-taking, facilitating the meeting-Serve as liaison between NBHP Projects Committee & the creation of Monthly CEU Trainings, including scheduling, flyer, registration website page & management, calendar invites, evaluations, sending CEU certificates, data management-Co-Lead planning of NBHP Annual Meeting and/or other large-scale event such as a fundraising Luncheon or Gala; preparing a draft budget, reaching out to event sponsors/raffle/auction donors, scheduling the venue and food, coordinating with event speakers (first event in 2023 raised more than $21k & was planned in 3 months) -Serve as creative lead for quarterly NBHP Newsletter/Website- Create content for NBHP Social Media Platforms; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), YouTube, LinkedIn-Served as Executive Producer for $15,000, 2-day video shoot & production project including coordinating production company, ordering food, and scheduling/logistics for 10+ person team, also wrote content and script, created scenes for entire video -Assist in other programs: WREDI (Workforce Development & Education Initiative), the Pathways Community HUB

-Continue carrying legislative, policy, and advocacy responsibilities from the Mental Health Policy Fellow position -Serve as a direct supervisor to future Mental Health Policy Fellow and "right-hand man" to NBHP Executive Director-Oversee and coordinate NBHP monthly community events, including all administrative duties related and data tracking-Create monthly NBHP newsletters and perform updates to NBHP website-Lead NBHP monthly committee work and meetings: Governance, Projects, and Public Policy

-Conducting policy research and analyzing local and statewide behavioral health statistics to help develop NBHP’s policy platforms at the local and state levels;-Developing one-pagers for NBHP policy issues;-Meeting with greater Houston area policymakers and their staff to educate them aboutmental health and substance use disorder issues and potential ways to address them;-Organizing pre- and post-87th legislative session events to educate the greater Houstonbehavioral health community about pertinent behavioral health policy issues;-Drafting letters in support of or opposed to legislation based upon NBHP’s local and statepolicy platforms;-Delivering both written and oral testimony in support of or opposition to legislation basedupon NBHP’s policy platform; and-Developing “advocacy alerts” to mobilize the broader behavioral health community insupport of or opposition to specific behavioral health legislation.

- Obtained certification in Brain Story through the Alberta Wellness Clinic - Traveled extensively to gain exposure to mental health policy and advocacy all over the state of Texas (Galveston, Dallas, Austin, Houston) - Attended presentations on the Austin State Hospital Redesign, R.I.G.H.T. CARE Police Program, 86th Legislative Session Overview, and Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence, as well as toured Kerrville State Hospital, Texas State Capitol, Dallas Children's Hospital - Took part in Championing Behavioral Health Integration in Primary Care Forum at Houston Methodist Hospital and Community-Based Care Collaborative Advisory Committee Meeting at DePelchin Children's Center - Networked with several behavioral health providers and organizations, including the Network of Behavioral Health Providers

- Initiated process improvement project within specific patient population- Facilitated Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) monthly meetings - Gained exposure to several different facets of the institution and cancer care through meetings

- Led a pilot project at a local school, Oyler Elementary, to implement a solution for increased communication between therapists and teachers for students receiving treatment in grades K-3- Project will now be implemented throughout remaining grades for future due to success of the pilot- Worked as an intern for MindPeace, a non-profit organization who helps bridge the gap between schools and mental health services for children in need- Currently program is housed at Cincinnati Children's Medical Campus in North College Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio- MindPeace began as a project of the Junior League of Cincinnati as an immense need for child mental health activists became apparent

- Instructed free and fee-based group (more than 4 participants) fitness classes to members of the CRC as well as to CCHMC employees, at both CRC and CARE facilities - Taught formats including HIIT, Core Crush, Total Body Tone, Bootcamp, etc. - Monitored performance and apparent health of students during class, acting and adjusting as necessary

- Prepared and executed fitness plans for clients- Considered special population and considerations - Modified training plans as needed according to progress - Designed training programs that supported client's lifestyle and goals- Continuously coached clients on developing new strategies to achieve their goals

- Supervised FFC and members on the floor - First responder to emergency situations (American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, April 2017)- Oversaw and monitored Group Fitness schedule/classes for cancellations, evaluations, etc.- Oversaw and monitored Personal Training on the floor - Maintained cleanliness of floor per FFC duties- Relayed important information each shift to following Fitness Leads and Pro Staff (office staff) - Similair duties to an FFC (see below)
