In October of 2024, I released my third book. "The Company Doctor Prescribes". it is a compilation of my best articles from the BizTimes Milwaukee. It will be available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.com. The book contains numerous articles which deal with various topics of interest to the small business owner and entrepreneur. The "Mayor of Jackson Heights". It is memoir about growing up Jewish in New York in the 1950s. It is a personalized overview of the ten years that influenced the lives of the "Boomers" and the "Latch-key" generations. It is also a written history of a typical immigrant family's journey from poverty to a middle class family. I currently mentor a number of non-profit executives in Milwaukee and Scottsdale on planning and organizational issues. I also serve as an advisor at the Lumen Christi Employment Network in Mequon, Wisconsin, where we mentor unemployed executives and assist them in their job search.My wife Susan and I are strong supporters of Rotary International and its goals of eliminating Polio and providing fresh water for people in underdeveloped countries. We are members of both the Scottsdale and Milwaukee North Shore clubs. We also support two theater companies, Pink Umbrella Theater and Empowered Theater Arts, dedicated to providing opportunities to adults and children with disabilities in Scottsdale, AZ and Milwaukee, WI. In 2016, my co-author a renown Phoenix family therapist and I published, "Overcoming Your NegotiaPhobia". The book is a guide to navigating the situations in your life that challenge your communication and negotiation skills. It is designed for non-professionals. It is available on Amazon.com and can be special ordered through Barnes and Noble. I have thirty years of experience in retail management and operations. I negotiated numerous labor management agreements, while maintaining positive labor relations. I worked with HRDQ, an national training organization, upgrading their materials making them facilitator friendly. I led a CEO group for MMAC / COSBE in Milwaukee for ten years. Published "Forced Distribution Performance Appraisals" in LERA's online magazine. Researched and wrote a series of articles on entrepreneurship and the "Entrepreneurial Brain" for Milwaukee's BizTimes. A recent article "No Desire to Retire" was well received and commented on by the Center for Longevity in Washington D.C.In 2012, trained over eighty executives for a Milwaukee based firm in negotiation, communication and conflict resolution skills at three different locations, Milwaukee, Los Angles and Tyler, Texas.
