Ms. Serbin served as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Strategy Officer for Source Medical Solutions (SMS) after SMS purchased Serbin Surgery Center Billing (SCB), an ASC billing and coding company. She was President, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer for both SCB and Surgery Consultants of America (SCA), an evaluation, development, management and consulting company for ambulatory surgery centers. Her companies focused on obtaining optimum reimbursement for their clients. She has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, with the last 18 years focused on the ASC industry. SCB and SCA provided billing and consulting services for hospital joint-ventured and physician-owned ambulatory surgery centers nationwide. As a recognized leader in the industry, Ms. Serbin has presented extensively at ASC national seminars and association meetings, authored articles on reimbursement, managed care negotiations and related topics and has contributed to industry publications for the past several years. She was recognized in Who’s Who in the Ambulatory Surgery Center Industry and chosen as the spokesperson for AAASC to present a series of educational seminars on the changing CMS payment system and its impact on ASCs.
