Cary M. King has over twenty years of experience as an entrepreneur and small business owner. Cary is the president, creative director, and administrator for Red Carrot Design, Inc.Cary began his career as a designer and senior art director working on high-profile accounts with local advertising agencies in Anchorage, Alaska. He launched his own design business in 2002 and later merged with his wife Jill to form one dynamic design studio, now known as Red Carrot Design, Inc.His creative contributions extend to his leadership with AIGA, the professional association for design. He was integral in founding AIGA’s Alaska chapter, was elected president in 2010, and was an advisor to the board of directors since 2019. Cary holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage.Cary is a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Sun City West, AZ. As an adjunct faculty member at the College of Arts & Sciences in the Department of Art, I instructed intermediate and advanced graphic design for 2nd, 3rd and 4th-year students. I continually sought out industry trends and best practices, leveraging my in-depth creative expertise to lead curriculum and encourage students to develop and explore creative thinking. I led project critiques and facilitated group discussions to enable student learning and development, and provided hands-on assistance for art projects during studio sessions. I consistently received positive feedback from my students for providing a safe and enjoyable environment and using real-world examples and exercises to help them improve their creative and professional skills.
