Tricker Blackie – Architectural Assistant Currently working at Tricker Blackie Associates in Sudbury, Suffolk. My main task was to convert all designs which were hand drawn into CAD drawings, modernising the company’s paper based methods. Since my initial task, my role has developed further to include, submitting several of my projects to planning permission. These included; a garage rebuild, a double extension, a garden room connected to the house and designing interiors on a shared project, as well as a numerous amount of smaller projects.Submitted technical drawings for a few projects, passing building regulations. One of which is now built and the others are under construction. From this I have learnt how to draw foundation plans, and research materiality. This has furthered my understanding of how to accurately create a technical drawing within building regulations. Conducted site meetings with potential clients, and further down the pipeline managing meetings with Site Managers. This involved managing progress, liaising with clients and contractors over the progress of construction. This often involved problem solving with contractors to ensure issues were overcome, to make sure that deadlines were met. I know where to locate fire escapes and the application of CDM on site. Mentored a 16 year old, work experience pupil for two weeks, overseeing his work and setting tasks.
