I worked with HR recruiting two seasonal interns by selecting the hiring criteria, reviewing applications and conducting interviews. Duty manager tasks - responsible for opening and locking up the visitor centre, the security onsite, general cleanliness of the building, responsible for all cash handling on the premises and the health and safety for all staff, volunteers and visitors, including food hygiene standards within the Cafe. Dealt with admissions, customer enquiries, and membership sales. During busy periods and events, I also helped out in the Cafe serving customers, cooking and barista. Managed a budget, and was responsible for using the internal finance system (eFinance), invoicing and applying for funding including Welsh government agri-environment schemes (Rural Payments Wales). Worked with stakeholders, notably, Carmarthenshire Bird Club, Carmarthenshire Nature Partnership and Carmarthenshire Wildfowlers Association. Supported and facilitated scientific surveys completed by local ecologists, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, BSBI members, CABI and Swansea University.Worked with external contractors to complete practical management of the reserve, including cutting and collecting and hedge flailing.
