I, Cas Carbaugh, am currently working as the Administrative Coordinator at The Neighborhood Academy a college preparatory school for low income, at-risk youth. Working at The Neighborhood Academy has really opened my eyes to how a private school system works. I have learned a lot through experience in the past two years of employment and I know that I will grow to only learn more. My job here ranges from, being an advisor to a group of 9th grade girls to coordinating an annual family fun night event Two summers ago I traveled to Seward, AK to work as a deckhand on a wildlife touring boat for Kenai Fjord's Tours. My Alaskan summer experience was filled with growth and more life-changing experiences. I was the president of Phi Sigma Sigma the Zeta Nu Chapter at Slippery Rock University. Having this role has tremendously helped me to build valuable leadership skills and influential contacts through leadership conferences. I attended one in January of 2013 in Washington D.C. and one in July in New York City. I was the Marketing Intern at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum in the summer of 2012 where I helped them with their social media sites, wrote their summers newsletter, and attending monthly marketing meetings with some members of COX cable. I learned a great deal as the Watch Expert for Fossil. I learned a vast amount of knowledge on watches and its functions, communicated effectively with people of differing cultures and restocked product. I have learned a lot on what works for selling a product you are passionate about. A lot is about likability and trust when it comes to selling.
