Since Graduating from college in 2015 with a BS in Geology I have been a seasonal worker primarily in the outdoor industry throughout Utah and Colorado. I am a certified Wilderness First responder and Outdoor Emergency Technician with extensive experience guiding in a variety of different capacities ranging from Wilderness Therapy to Whitewater Tourism. Additionally, I have spent a large amount of time in educational settings as both a student and instructor for ages ranging from elementary to college specializing in the earth sciences and Environmental Science. I have a passion for all disciplines of science and outdoor education and spend the majority of my time when not working recreating in the outdoors and learning as much as I can about the world that surrounds me.

Job entailed: Instructing and managing 5th graders from charter and Poudre Valley school district for three days and two nights in an untraditional work week for a stipend. Primary responsibilities entailed planning curriculum and teaching 2-hour block classes on fire ecology, mountain pine beetle, Meteorology, geology, forest ecology, and wildlife to classes of 15-25 with a large component in the field. Leading educational day hikes (6-8 hours) for groups of 15-20. Leading 2-hour campfire sessions to groups of 30-40 with a partner focusing on fun, and reflection, of day's activities. All activities required a large component of the “Leave No Trace” principles in ways that were fun and engaging for 9-11 year olds. When not teaching instructors were required to occupy students with adventure games and activities as well as assist with dining hall responsibilities such as cleaning and supervision of ravenous students. The ability to multitask and improvise from a plan was crucial for this position. 2015 and 2018 seasons completed.
