Assist the Channel Development Manager and senior management representatives in short-range and long-range projects to further develop and enhance the Houston Ship Channel with a focus on positive economic and environmental impacts. Develop budgets for my department as well as the long-term capital planning budget for dredging and placement area improvement projects.Project manager for two PHA channel improvement projects estimated at approximately $100M combined construction cost. Leading the team that is developing the environmental and economic studies that are the basis for federal approval of our permits required for construction of the projects in 2014. The studies cover the economic benefits as well as the impacts in several categories including economic, air, sound, marine life and social. Directing the development of the final plans, specifications, and procurement requirements for these projects.Manage the dredging program for the PHA docks with an approximate annual dredging cost of $2M. For this, review and assess the quarterly surveys produced by PHA surveyors and interview the appropriate operations staff to identify areas that will need dredging, when dredging will be needed and the urgency of the dredging. Once dredging is decided upon, research all dredging options to find the option with the best value. Review estimates and use that information to set a budget for approval. Participate in the creation of plans and specifications needed for the project. Once underway, manage the project by monitoring the activities directly or with the use of project inspectors until final closeout.

In January 1998, began career as an engineer at Great Lakes Dredge and Dock (GLDD). Their home office is located in Oak Brook, Illinois; however, the majority of projects were located along the shorelines, channels and harbors of the continental United States as well as Puerto Rico. There were a variety of engineering and management tasks with increasing levels of responsibility over the years.~Construction Manager Developed plans to ensure project compliance with all contract requirements through the development and implementation of assurance tests. Conduced daily inspections of the jobsite, including the equipment, methods and personnel used, to spot any problems and potential problems that may cause contract compliance issues. Developed solutions to any problems identified on the daily inspections. Managed subordinate staff covering a variety of specialty areas. Compiled a daily report of the state of the project and submit this report to the project owner and internal upper management and field staff. ~EngineerPerformed bathymetric and land surveys, quantity computations, electronic equipment positioning and control, production monitoring and reporting. Responsible for proper setting out of strategy for all survey, dredging and filling schemes, verification of proper survey technique and execution; discussion of daily operational factors, surveys and production results with staff and upper management; maintaining proper records for the survey; submittal of all record and payment surveys; making necessary operational adjustments to increase daily production; verification of all production and volume totals for the dredge and correct dredge positioning software setup; submittal of end of job report; equipment procurement and delivery to project during mobilization
