I focus my practice on regulatory compliance matters, government and internal investigations, and government contracting. My regulatory practice involves U.S. laws and regulations affecting international trade and business, including import and export controls, economic and trade sanctions, and anti-corruption requirements. I help organizations navigate the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and the National Industrial Security Program Operation Manual (NISPOM). I counsel clients regarding compliance with international trade laws and regulations administered by the Department of Commerce, Department of State, and Department of the Treasury, and she represents companies in disputes with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regarding the classification, valuation, and origin of imported goods. I further advise clients regarding the transportation of merchandise and passengers under the Jones Act, particularly involving transportation to and from the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf. Additionally, I am experienced in representing clients before various U.S. government agencies as well as in litigation proceedings involving international trade matters. I assist clients with government contracting and subcontracting, including contract formation, internal investigations, and remediation, and advise government contractors on compliance with domestic origin preferences.I advise clients on best practices for compliance and in developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and training tailored to the organization’s business model. I am also experienced in executing compliance-related due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and financing transactions. My experience and knowledge of a breadth of compliance obligations allow me to help clients efficiently navigate a complex regulatory landscape.
