Manage all aspects of the District’s educational and instructional programs; financial and business services; personnel and staff relations; operation, maintenance and utilization of all facilities; information and technology services; long-term capital needs; and community relations. Develop both long- and short- range goals for the improvement and growth of the district programs and educational activities to meet the needs and desires of the community. Direct the development of the annual budget of the school district. Review and recommend programs and supporting data for including funds in annual budget. Supervises the selection and purchase of materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to support the instructional program. Report to the Board of Education the progress and status of district programs and activities. Maintain cooperative working relationship between the schools, the community, and community agencies. Serve as a representative of the school system and the community at meetings on the local, state, and national level. Develop and recommend policies and programs for personnel recruitment, selection and retention; employee relations; employee benefits and services; employee safety; personnel evaluation and salary administration for the District. Monitor and guide the progress of negotiations with bargaining units. Act as a chief executive officer to the Board of Education and attend all meetings. Provides training and professional development for all staff to aid in the improvement of instruction. Oversees the maintenance, repair, and remodeling of school facilities. Supervises the preparation of annual School Improvement Plans and monitor their accomplishment. Supervises the establishment, operation, and scheduling of building and District committees and other activities to ensure appropriate coordination and articulation in the delivery of the educational program. Hire, evaluate, mentor, and develop personnel under her direct supervision.

Supervises ~50 staff members including, paraprofessionals, teachers, administrative assistants, athletic director, assistant principal, guidance counselors, nurse, custodial, and cafeteria workers. Responsible for acting as the educational leader, managing the policies, regulations, and procedures. Oversees the instructional programs of the school, evaluating lesson plans, and observing classes on a regular basis to encourage the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials. Develops clearly understood procedures and provides regular drills for emergencies and disasters. Establishes and maintains an effective inventory system for all school supplies and equipment. Communicates with the Board of Education regularly about needs, successes, and general operations. Protects confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and uses discretion in sharing such information within legal confines. Assists in supervising the kitchen and custodial staff for the building to ensure standards are being maintained and students have a clean safe environment. Communicates regularly with parents, seeking support and advice, so as to create a cooperative relationship to support the student in school. Interacts with students to encourage individual highest level performance. Establish schedules and procedures for the supervision of students in non-classroom areas. Sets the academic tone and actively work with teachers to develop and maintain high curriculum standards, develop mission statements, and set performance goals and objectives. Hires, evaluates, and improves the skills of teachers and other professionals. Key accomplishments from this role include having built a STEM program at PHS. Cultivated a professional learning community that is collaborative. Incorporated a new PBIS system at PHS. Received the Errett Warner Presidential Award in 2019 from EIU. Acted as South-Central Conference President of 2019 and 2020.

Supervised teachers, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants, social workers, nurse, business manager, drivers, kitchen, and custodial staff. Monitored instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related toprogram outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions. Consulted the campus-level committee about planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of campus education program regularly. Fostered collegiality and team building among staff members and encouraged active involvement in decision-making process. Defined expectations for staff performance regarding instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with the public. Observed employee performance and conducted evaluation conferences with staff. Key accomplishments from this role include the school having received PBIS- Gold level Recognition during my tenure. Contributed to site accredited through AdvancEd. Improved staff morale and culture that was at an all-time low prior to arrival.

Collaborated with the activity fund for the school, supervised extra-curricular events, led staff trainings and worked on the Joint Evaluation Committee. Led NGSS alignment of curriculum at the elementary and middle school levels. Responsible for mentoring new faculty, creating student schedules, determining RTI eligibility, and analyzed all ISAT data for 2013-2014 school year. Key accomplishments from this role include having led the School Improvement Team and developed a school portfolio for HJHS, which was rooted in data to determine areas for improvement, factoring in perceptions data from parents, facultyand students along with academic goals based on data from state testing. Prepared Excellent Evaluations as a trained Danielson teacher evaluator. Awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student in Educational Administration in 2015 from SIUE.
