Job Developer/Job Coach/Career Planner/Direct Support Profesional (Dsp)
As a job developer, I worked with Vocational Rehabilitation Services to support individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities who wished to enter or re-enter the workforce. While job coaching, I would support these individuals by observing them while they were working to ensure their safety and overall effectiveness of the job. I was also part of the career planning program; Discovering Personal Genius (DPG). I would create job/career development plans for clients by identifying their interests and skills. Ultimately, I would produce three overarching vocational themes and a clear idea of necessary work conditions needed for each client's success. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), I worked at the community-based adult day program for individuals with disabilities. I was in charge of teaching clients budgeting/money management, job, and social skills, and I held classes on these topics three times a week.
