I work on a small team maintaining, enhancing, and even rebuilding a suite of custom enterprise applications. I work closely with product teams to deliver white-glove Saas to our clients and respond rapidly to their constantly evolving business needs. I participate in support, planning, design, and implementation of bug-fixes, enhancements, new features, as well as from-scratch apps to continually add value to their systems.Our process is agile and we use jira to manage projects and git/tfs for version control. The technologies we leverage are many and include: C#/.Net MVC and Core, Java/Spring MVC,Entity Framework , Sql, and Hibernate, IIS, Node, Tomcat, Websphere, TeamCity,Powershell, Bash, Putty,AngularJS, grunt, Typescript and Angular 7, knockoutjs, jQuery, Bootstrap, Foundation, and plenty of plain ole HTML and CSS My experience with these systems and these tools and technologies has taught me to listen to users, business interests, and product owners and learn about complex legacy systems and highly specific business constructs and logic. Navigating the myriad tools and technologies these systems are built with has not led to mastery of any sort, I wouldn't even say I'm at "jack-of-all" status with most of them. However, it has cultivated a deep sense of respect for the challenges faced by the previous engineers and their efforts to solve those problems with the tools at their disposal. Most importantly, this experience strengthens my capacity to learn on the go, to be comfortable not knowing so that I can do my best to work with what I've got to make things better and add value to the system where I can and accept the limitations where I can't.

Nashville Software School July 2016 - PresentApprentice Software Developer This is an intensive, full-stack, full-time software development apprenticeship, focused on Javascript/Angular and Python/Django development fundamentals on small evolving teams, with Agile, SCRUM methodology. Ten years of hard work and training in the world of food led me to Rolf and Daughters where I had the opportunity to work closely with one of the most dynamic young chefs around to help build one of the top-ranked restaurant start-ups in America. As a Sous Chef, I worked with the executive Chef to develop and test recipes, techniques, and procedures for the implementation of new menu items and helped maintain and optimize the production and continued development of existing programs. I helped manage inventory, track spending, train and manage cooks from diverse backgrounds in various disciplines, coordinate logistics for off-site production, and I had an incredible time doing it. I got to learn and do everything from Italian whole-hog Butchery and Salumi, to French nose-to-tail Charcuterie; from rustic, sourdough Bread Baking, to elegant Pastries, fine Chocolates and Candy-Making.My team and I worked with the finest ingredients available to make some of the most delicious and satisfying food possible in a kitchen that was rigorous, professional, successful, and fun. I used everything I'd ever learned everyday and continued to develop and learn as a professional and a person.

Porter Road Butcher rides a growing wave of chefs-turned-artisan-Butchers, revitalizing a dying art while building a successful business connecting customers directly to local producers through the time-honored tradition of the neighborhood Butcher Shop. I joined the team as an apprentice, achieving Journeyman-Level competence, then moving directly into a Management role after helping develop and implement systems for streamlining our breakdown process and workflow, track product, and train new apprentices to become effective, modern, whole-animal Butchers. It was an honor to be a part of such a strong and ambitious team and share in the experience of building another successful business from the ground up, learning as we go, and seeing it scale into an organization that continues to bring incredible value to a vital area of the local food system here in Middle Tennessee.

Olive & Sinclair was one of the most interesting and formative companies I've had the opportunity to help build. When I joined the team, they were bootstrapping a basement art gallery in East Nashville into what would soon become one of the most successful artisan chocolate brands in America. I joined the team to help build their production from the ground up. I worked with the owner and founder to help develop the recipes, techniques, and procedures to grow from kitchen scale to country-wide in less than a year. I managed the production from bean-to-bar, tracking every process to develop the system and maintain it's integrity through exponential growth. As the process grew, so did our team. I helped train and manage them while collaborating with the owner to develop new products and create solutions to the continually evolving needs of this tremendously successful brand and it operations.
