I am currently working for the District of Columbia's Mayor's office in the field of emergency preparedness. The work concentrates on preparing the community through various CERT (community emergency response team) training events, in order to help educate communities in the greater D.C. area. Along with CERT training, I am involved with a program called Commander Ready, which aims at training youth in the different wards in DC.

● Created a basic response plan for St Johns Military School in order to mitigate the damage from the possibility of a local disaster.● Oversaw and conducted drills in order to maintain readiness of the cadets for a possible disaster.

Operation Iraqi Freedom

● Conducted security operations in the area of operations of Fallujah Iraq and Rutbah Iraq from may 2007 through may 2009. ● As squad leader, performed duties of ensuring security of TCP's ( traffic control points), the Iraqi Police station, and COP (combat outpost) Rutbah.● Lead foot and mounted patrols in support of NSW (naval special warfare) in order to capture high value targets in Ar Rutbah.● Lead QRF (quick reaction force) in support of local coalition forces. ● worked with the platoon leader to ensure security and response were efficient for the threat level in the area.● Led atmospheric patrols in order to gain intelligence from the local Iraqi population, that was passed up the chain of command to plan future operations.● Helped plan security operations to facilitate meetings between the coalition and Iraqi forces for the safe turn over of Iraq from coalition to Iraqi control.● Performed duties of security watch officer for command operations center.● As sergeant of the guard, was in charge of creating a security response plan and the security of entry control points. ● Held responsibility for transport, firing accuracy, cleanliness, maintenance & repair, & mission capability of the M777 howitzer. ● Ensured security of ammunition for the M777, including 155 mm projectiles, propellants, fuses & primers. ● Conducted live fire exercises in Camp Lejeune & Fort Bragg, NC & Twenty-nine Palms, CA ensuring deployment readiness. ● Conducted urban combat training at Military Operations on Urban Terrain facilities at Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps base Twenty-nine Palms, CA.
