I am currently advising as an Accessibility Expert for my local school district to redesign playgrounds to be accessible for children of all abilities. I also serve as a volunteer advocate for families who have children with disabilities and need assistance accessing services in their local school districts or within their health care systems. I have helped create educational policy changes to reflect more inclusive student populations and more diverse services available for students with special needs in the State of Michigan.Previously I have also consulted on disability issues in health care to help shape public policy. I have worked with healthcare providers to guide palliative care and inpatient services to be more inclusive of people with disabilities and chronic conditions. I have helped shape policy changes within the health system to reflect accessibility and advocacy for people with disabilities.
