Providing Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatments to patients at NYU-Long Island Community Hospital who sustain cardiac, medicine, stroke, traumatic, and orthopedic conditions/injuriesAssisting in the creation and implementation of newly delivered Occupational Therapy Services at NYU-LICH

• Provide Occupational Therapy interventions to individuals of various ages, teenage through life span, with diagnoses including but not limited to (Traumatic) Brain and Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, Amputee, and Orthopedic surgeries • Responsibilities involve initial evaluations, daily documentation, weekly summaries of progress, administration and summarization of results of various assessments, and preparing patients as well as their families for discharge• Provide clinical and professional mentoring to OT and Rehab Aides who provide clinical services to individuals with Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries as well as the general neurological population• Consistently creating various wheelchair DME letters of justification, evaluating and addressing wheelchair seating and positioning needs, performing home evaluations• Organization of Orientation of newly rotated staff members• Weekend and holiday scheduling of patients and staff members
