Feasibility Study: Worked as part of a project team that assessed the feasibility of combining, modifying, and operating two existing facilities. This feasibility study detailed potential customers, material in/outflows and costs associated with material handling, construction, and miscellaneous engineering. Plumbing/HVAC Design:Completed a document that detailed all of the plumbing and HVAC specifications in compliance with local and state building codes for an industrial dwelling. This project familiarized me with many of the local and state building codes and also all of the calculations associated with the sizing of HVAC systems. AutoCAD Drawing Standardization:Worked as part of a project team that was responsible for the standardization of an extremely large set of plot plans, elevations, isometric, orthographic and general arrangement drawings. This project familiarized me with common AutoCAD industry standards and also allowed me to become more proficient with AutoCAD.

Capital Process Modification Project:Worked together with the project manager to organize project documentation, develop new process layouts, source out new equipment and aid in the overall modification of an existing process. This project required developing and maintaining a strict timeline, lots of field measurements for the sizing and placement of new equipment, calculations to verify the correct sizing of equipment and piping and numerous meetings to present progress and expected completion dates. Dust Suppression Project:Worked together with a construction company to design a cheap and easily built structure for containing dust that could be accessed with heavy equipment. Process Improvement Project:Improved the plant's material recycle system through minimization of down time, implementation of daily procedures and general maintenance. This project required working as a team with crew members to trouble shoot and resolve recurring problems. Inventory/Spares Project:Surveyed all conveying systems within the facility to create a detailed database that would allow maintenance crews to easily repair/maintain equipment. This project familiarized me with many types of conveying systems including heavy duty belt conveyors, screw feeders and bucket elevators.Miscellaneous Projects:While at Mesabi Nugget, I also completed a number of smaller projects that ranged from developing procedures to reduce the consumption of replaceable parts to compiling budgets to access the feasibility of fire suppression systems in critical areas around the plant.

Aided in the shipment and delivery of UPS mail traffic for the busy months leading up to Christmas. While at UPS I learned the importance of teamwork and how to balance safe work practices with maintaining a tight schedule.
