Propulsion Engineer
In my role as a Propulsion Engineer, I've worked a variety of projects encompassing the entire lifecycle of the engines. My current role as a member of the design team supports in-service Auxiliary Power Systems. This role includes drawing updates, leading cross functional teams in production and in-service issue investigations, and running engine performance analysis. Previously, I supported product development for new engines on current and future programs. The role responsibilities included design work in CATIA, interfacing with supply chain to ensure development milestones were met, defining interface requirements and documents to flow down to suppliers, and defining engine architecture in CAMEO.
Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
In my role as a lead engineer, I managed and completed incoming design projects. This included breaking down system requirements into risk matrices and project schedules all the way through manufacturing and delivering the product. I primarily designed elastomeric and plastic sealing assemblies, with proficiency in both Catia V5 and Solidworks CAD software. I also ran design iterations, trade studies, and design verification studies with Abaqus non-linear FEA software. Following design completion, I worked with our manufacturing engineers and machinist to ensure designs met specifications and identified any issues or potential improvements.As an additional project in my role, I developed proper characterization of hyperelastic materials in Abaqus to improve the company's material characterization and FEA accuracy. This included additional material testing to meet each design case, new data post-processing techniques, and increased evaluation of strain energy potential models in relation to cumulative test data. I als0 worked with machinists on developing techniques and tools to aid in engineering testing and development.
