A large part of my internship was to determine the number of hold downs and stiffeners required for welded, knockdown, and vibration isolated HVAC curbs of varying heights, as well as design the anchorage of the curbs to steel, wood, and concrete to account for both shear and uplift loads. I also developed spreadsheets combining reaction forces, moments, and dynamic loading into various load combinations used for analysis and design of concrete anchorage. I calculated overturning moment for foundation design using seismic and wind loading.
