This position required me to coordinate my efforts with the local veterinarian to assess the status of cows and determine an appropriate action plan.One of my additional projects consisted of launching a waste management program at a local elementary school to encourage appropriate trash can use and create a compost system. I wrote and presented a grant application that successfully received funding from local Parent Teacher Association to support these efforts. As part of a country-wide initiative to fight the spread of malaria, I successfully created and facilitated a bed-net hanging campaign for the prevention of malaria transmission in my local health district. With the help of the health center chief, I trained 26 local community health workers on project framework and malaria prevention tactics. This project received local funding from the Bamenda 1 city council in allowed me to report directly to the local mayor. This project was completed with over 800 new nets hung in the health district. -
