Hi, I'm Casey. With 18 years of dedication to the nonprofit sector, my journey has been deeply rooted in supporting women in our community and championing systemic change. My extensive experience in the human trafficking field has allowed me to work directly on the front lines, including attending a groundbreaking conference where my previous employer was the first shelter to participate.One of my proudest career moments was when a client with an exceptionally challenging journey, returned after five years, overflowing with gratitude for the support she received during her path to resilience. This moment underscored the impact of my work and fueled my commitment to continue making a difference.Reflecting on my past roles, I worked as a Child and Youth Worker at Covenant House, where I specialized in trauma care, helping young individuals develop coping strategies and supporting their recovery journey. At Avdell House, I served as an Anti-Human Trafficking Residential Youth Worker, providing immediate support to young women, guiding them through court proceedings, and connecting them with vital resources to aid their recovery and independence.Today, as a Systems Navigator, I am focused on helping women access critical resources and coordinating support services. I work with clients to create practical safety and exit strategies, assist with social housing and Ontario Disability Support applications, and connect them with essential resources to pave their path to their fresh start.I actively collaborate with community partners like Unity and Community and the Situation Table to identify service gaps and drive improvements. Looking ahead, my vision is to continue expanding these partnerships, ensuring every woman we support feels empowered and equipped to navigate her unique journey.
