Interventional Radiology Staff Nurse
CurrentInterventional Radiology is both MedSurg based with surgery aspects. I currently do an assortment of tasks such as patient admissions, patient discharges, patient education, extensive documentation of patient related events such as drain placements/procedures performed. I provide moderate sedation for most procedures as well as providing monitoring of patients throughout the entire radiology department. IR requires a multitude of skills such as great patient interaction, extensive communication skills between multiple modalities and physicians, administration of moderate sedation, placement of foley catheters in adults and infants, quick thinking during stressful situations, and the ability to speak up when safety is a concern.
