My main professional goals are intimately tied with my passion of working to promote political ends and agents. I have always had a desire to be more knowledgeable on the goings on in Washington, Harrisburg, and my own municipal township. Since a young age I engaged in philosophical debate with peers and instructors on the nature of government, political economy, and society writ-large. I currently work as a line cook as I recently graduated fun laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors in History and Political Science, and felt the need to stay employed, as I have since I was fourteen. Each of my coworkers and colleagues would describe me as involved and engaged with the wider world, while still professional and compassionate. I know when politics needs to be left to the wayside in the name of getting the job done. Everywhere I have worked, I have had no problems advancing up the cursus honorum, having consistently attained raises within 6 months of employment by proving myself to be a hard and diligent worker. Most of my employment history is that of service work, requiring a professional, upbeat attitude when talking with customers, yet I still consider myself a student in many ways. Everywhere I have been employed, I have sought to learn more of the trade and improve my and my coworker's efficiency. Learning new things comes easy to me, and I have no conjunctions admiring when I've made a mistake with the intent to correct it and grow from the experience. Where previously I barely know how to cook a chicken, now I make suggestions with management in changing the menu on a seasonal basis, incorporating items seldom used year-round into new dishes. Should there be a company cook-out, I'm your man.Outside of work, I volunteer at the local food bank, and volunteer for local and national elections. I have even traveled as far as Minneapolis to campaign for a candidate I felt had a laudable platform. When I feel the cause is worth pursuing, there is little that can stop me from doing so.
