LS Power Grid New York is the developer and future owner of the Central East Energy Connect Project - a 345kV electric transmission project under development in Upstate New York, including nearly 100 miles of transmission line upgrades and two new gas-insulated substations. The company is a member of the LS Power Group. As Vice President of Development, I lead the development, permitting, and construction of the project. This includes the full spectrum of activities from the establishment of the project definition, through community outreach and environmental permitting, entering into equipment and construction contracts, and construction.

A focus of this role is community relations activities, including the preparation and presentation of materials for community gatherings and open house meetings, as well as building working relationships with federal, state and local elected officials.I also lead the preparation of applications for permits and approvals, meetings with regulatory agencies and staff, review of statues and regulations, and managing consulting/engineering firms in support of permitting.I’ve also involved with identifying new business opportunities for both power generation projects (including renewable and energy storage resources) and transmission projects based on analyses of capacity, energy, and ancillary markets across the United States.

Silver Run Electric, LLC is the developer, and future owner and operator of the Silver Run Project - a power transmission line under construction from the Delmarva Peninsula to southern New Jersey at the Artificial Island. The company is a member of the LS Power Group. The Silver Run Project is a first of its kind in a number of ways:► First major competitively awarded in PJM, which manages reliable service for 65 million Americans► First use of innovative Vertical Injector technology to install submarine cables as much as 25 feet below the bed of the Delaware River, and in significantly less time than conventional approaches► First cost commitment to protect electric consumers against any project cost overrunsDevelopment of the project presented a number of challenges, including seven 230kV cables crossing deep beneath a major shipping channel; environmental permitting split between the federal level and two states; and land use with a nuclear power station and state-owned marsh. With a strong commitment to using innovative technology to avoid and minimize impacts, and a great team, we were able to successfully permit and contract an execution plan that keeps the project on schedule and budget.
