Celebrated for her "sensitive and soulful interpretations" and a "tone reminiscent of the greats of the past" (Chronicle Musique) violinist Casey McGrath has established herself as a soloist, orchestral violinist, and collaborative musician across genre lines. ​A graduate of both the Cincinnati Conservatory (Master of Music) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Literature), Casey has served as concertmaster for the Fox Valley Orchestra, the Fox Valley Philharmonic, and the Salt Creek Ballet. As an orchestral violinist, she has performed with New Philharmonic, the Northwest Indiana Symphony,Elgin Symphony, Rockford Symphony, Illinois Valley Symphony, Lafayette Symphony, Marion Philharmonic, the Kokomo Symphony, the New Millennium Philharmonic, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Pacific, and the Opera, Theater, and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy, among others.​As a concerto soloist, Casey and has appeared with the Joliet Symphony, the Illinois Valley Symphony, the Fox Valley Philharmonic, and the Fox Valley Orchestra. As a collaborative musician, she served as first violinist for the Navitas String Quartetand as violin soloist for tango band, Tango Espejo, recording the violin solos for the soundtrack to the film, Deadly Embrace. ​Casey is a verified Spotify artist, having released her arrangements of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird," Radiohead's "Creep," and Tool's "Schism," with the arrangements of Tool's "Forty Six & 2" and "Sober" set for release later this fall. Aside from classically-inspired, virtuosic covers for her solo show, Fiddlerock!, Casey enjoys adding violin parts to house, electronica, rap, hip-hop, trance, and trap remixes in a project she hosts on YouTube and SoundCloud, Fiddleluminations: Violin Added for Flavor. She is also currently collaborating with Wesley Schimdt, front man of Illinois Valley-based band, Abbynormal, in celebrating the work of classic singer-songwriters in rock, country, and pop in an intimate duet show called Lark & Starling.​Casey is the co-author of the book, Performance Anxiety Strategies: A Musician’s Guide to Managing Stage Fright (Rowman and Littlefield, 2016) and has served on the music faculties of Lewis University, Joliet Junior College, and the University of St. Francis. Most recently, she was selected for Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce's 40 Under Forty list of 2023.
