Cell EXPLORERS is a science outreach programme based in the school of Biological and Chemical Sciences in University of Galway. It aims to introduce young people to science through a hands-on approach, and challenge any negative stereotypes they may have about the field. I volunteer preparing the experiment equipment used by the young people. This involves following SOPs and protocols, and collaborating with other volunteers. Cell EXPLORERS is the type of programme I wish had visited me in primary school, and I feel like I'm making a difference as more and more young people benefit from our services.
