With the advantage of having a well-rounded undergraduate education in liberal arts, various job and intern experiences, and a go-getting ENFP personality type, I am confident in my abilities to excel in a wide variety of career fields. I am most specifically interested in working in wellness, in media, and with children. These interests, coupled with the structure of working in a school, are what draw me to a career as a school counselor. I am currently pursuing a M.S. in school counseling from Marywood University.I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University in May 2020 and proudly served as the Director of Fundraising for HootaThon, a student-run organization that raises money for the Child Life department at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), my senior year. I also successfully completed a semester interning alongside the Child Life department at Seacrest Studios at CHOP where I produced, hosted, and directed live programming across the hospital’s closed-circuit television network, Galaxy 51. I supplemented curating an on-air presence via Temple Talk, an on-campus, student-run, live talk show. There, I assisted producers, directors, and crew on set and even made a guest appearance for my own one-time craft segment. Unfortunately, COVID-19 cut these learning opportunities (and usable footage for a highlight reel) short. As a college graduate, I found myself receiving rejections for being simultaneously “too qualified” for internships and “not qualified enough” for entry-level positions in the media industry. The pandemic-era job market did not make this any easier. Eventually, I ventured into childcare, retail, and education, but my interest in broadcasting still stands strong.I am currently working as a substitute teacher with the Dunmore School District and navigating life as a full-time graduate student. Despite all that, I still wish to become more experienced in front of and behind the camera. Ideally, in the very near future, I would like to use the skills I have gained to help students explore careers in journalism beyond a school newspaper and host a segment that educates viewers on topics, such as mental health and wellness in adults and children, parenting tactics and supports, and the importance of public schools in our society.
