I am currently a research and instruction librarian at the University of Texas at El Paso. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. I am dedicated to the improvement and expansion of resources for my library’s community and have demonstrated my passion through my work on multiple grant projects. In 2022 I secured a $10k grant from the ALA which helped fund the library’s summer reading program and allowed us to expand programming to previously underserved demographics. In 2023 I oversaw a $50k library renovation project that utilized grant funds from the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration to revitalize the library facility and create a more welcoming and functional community space. In the same year state grant funding enabled me to implement a hotspot lending program which sought to bridge the digital divide in our community by providing much-needed internet access to individuals who previously lacked access to this essential resource.As a library professional I am always striving to provide solutions for more effective community engagement and information access. I hope to continue to cultivate this passion as my career evolves.
