Student Transitions And Family Programs

In this role, I welcomed and provided resources to aid with the family and student transitions to college life. Specific duties include: - Recruit, select, train and supervise 4 student leaders (Tiger Family Guides)- Create and maintain a website ( https://blogs.clemson.edu/cufamilies/ )- Assist in written publications including the Parent Family Handbook, Guidebook, Social Media, and pre/post event specific communications- Design a monthly calendar which outlines due dates, events, and seasonal transitional issues- Instruct technology and software trainings for staff- Plan and oversee the success of large (100- 1,200+ people) and small-scale (12- 50 people) events- Develop, implement, and evaluate an assessment plan for departmental events

Academic Success Center

- Led 1:1 advising sessions with undeclared students to discuss values, goals, and major options- Created and delivered an interactive presentation which dispelled myths about college and explained Clemson's advising and registration processes- Articulated 7 academic colleges' curriculum and departmental programs to incoming students- Assisted with course registration and problem solved issues during New Student Orientation

Student Transitions And Family Programs

- Planned and coordinated an overnight program for 40 transfer students to make connections and learn campus traditions before orientation- Designed and maintained a digital events logistics app (Guidebook) which followed brand standards for Orientation and Welcome Week- Communicated by email, phone, and in-person with over 10 campus departments to coordinate contracts, partnerships, and events- Developed and implemented a social media plan to highlight department initiatives, campus resources, and advertise sponsors- Assisted in event management and problem solving during Orientation, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, and other STFP events- Served as "on-call" staff member in student Orientation Housing and responded to approximately 10 incidents throughout the Summer

University Housing And Dining, Residential Learning

EDC 3900, or Development Theory, Leadership, and Counseling Skills for Student Leaders, is a leadership course required for Resident Assistants. Specific duties included: - Developed weekly lesson plans and activities to reach the learning objectives outlined by the University Housing and Dining Department - Co-facilitated dialogue surrounding topics of leadership development, social identity, cultural awareness, and student development theory - Graded and provided written and verbal constructive feedback on submitted assignments- Researched and incorporated innovative teaching methods to accommodate multiple learning styles

Housing And Residence Life

- Advised 12 Diversity and Inclusion (RAISE) Resident Assistants to design and implement a Cultural Life Program with the purpose of engaging the campus community in dialogue- Developed and led weekly meetings about topics of diversity and inclusion- Created a resource manual with lesson plans, facilitator guides, and corresponding activities- Fostered an open environment and pushed learning edges for student growth and learning

Campus Recreation

- Facilitated games and team building activities to improve group skills such as communication, trust, listening, and leadership- Evaluated needs and created individualized programs geared towards goal/objectives of group- Led dialogues to debrief activities and assess skills learned- Challenged participants to step out of their comfort zone in order to grow as individuals

- Engaged 210 first-year students and their families during small group time (12-14 per session)- Generated and presented 3, 30-minute educational sessions to inform students of campus resources and traditions- Welcomed first-year students and their families while offering quality customer service- Built a positive group dynamic to ensure the comfort, inclusion, and participation of all students
