Evaluate Naval Aviators on their ability to safely conduct normal and degraded flight operations in the instrument environment in accordance with Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization and FAA standards. Upon successful evaluation, aviators are granted a Standard Instrument Rating for 1 year.

Determine whether an aircraft airframe, engine or engines, accessories, or equipment is functioning according to established standards while operating in its intended environment. Perform an FCF Check Flight upon accepting a newly assigned/delivered aircraft, after completion of rework, after the installation or reinstallation of an engine, when a fixed flight surface has been installed or reinstalled, or when an aircraft has not flown in 30 days or more and is returned to flight status.

Provide required annual training on the principles and concepts of Threat and Error Management and Crew Resource Management to fleet Naval Aviators and Flight Officers.Designate new NATOPS Instructors as CRM Facilitators after providing training on the strategies and techniques of testing fleet Naval Aviators and Flight Officers on CRM during annual required NATOPS evaluations.

Instruct and train newly winged Naval Aviators and Naval Flight Officers to safely and tactically employ the military's most advanced airborne electronic attack platform.

Responsible for training and qualifying Instructor Aircrew to teach the latest tactics in within visual and beyond visual range air-to-air counter-tactics.

Direct representative of the EA-18G NATOPS Model Manager. Responsible for managing the fleet-wide Growler NATOPS Program by working hand-in-hand with Boeing, NAVAIR, and Squadron NATOPS Officers to ensure aircrew are supplied with the most up-to-date and safest procedures and publications to operate the EA-18G Growler. Develop updated safety procedures for aircrew and ground crew by conferring with members of Boeing, NAVAIR, and Fleet Squadrons to address procedural and mechanical hazards associated with the aircraft. Conduct annual NATOPS Evaluator and Instructor check rides for qualified aircrew. Manage the NATOPS Evaluation team to conduct in-depth analysis of individual Fleet Squadrons every 18 months to ensure the highest compliance with EA-18G NATOPS and CNAF-M 3710 instructions and directives.

Administer the CRM program as directed by the E/A-18G Community Model Manager. Ensure pertinent CRM-related issues, including E/A-18G lessons learned, documented CRM breakdowns and specific areas of concern for the E/A-18G are forwarded to the CRM via the Program Manager. Ensure appropriate material is briefed to all aircrew.
