Casey’s gift for engaging people in conversation and making an immediate connection is one of his most valuable assets. While at EBS, Casey was able to leverage this talent to help grow our Business Intelligence Practice particularly in the area of survey participation. Over the space of three years, Casey was primarily responsible for growing our participation almost 200% and helped to launch 2 new industry benefit surveys. On a personal level, Casey is one of the finest people I know. He is a great husband, a wonderful father and I consider myself fortunate to count him among my friends." and "Casey was extremely strong in his years at ProfessionalBuilder / MassageBuilder.
STRENGTHS:
** ANALYSIS: Casey is extremely good at taking large pools of data and organizing them (typically with excel) in a way that makes it possible to see patterns and/or predict likely consequences. On a number of occasions, the way that he was able to gather and synthesize information had me see a point of view that I'd been resisting or to which I'd outright disagreed prior to listening to him. The fact that he was able to do it so convincingly with the data was the real key -- as it removed the discussion from the realm of well-meaning inferential decision making and into a more logical, fact-based arena.
** SOCIAL SKILLS: Casey is in the upper 10% of people in the business environment in terms of his social skills. He's extremely likable, very engaging, and has an intelligence that is very "under the radar" which makes it not in the least threatening. When you combine these social qualities with his extremely good listening habits -- it can be a pretty potent package in business. One practical way that it showed up while he was with our company was in working with technical teams. Those guys tend to see things in a very binary / black-white way -- and It was amazing to watch Casey interact with those teams in a way where he had them see that their point of view just didn't work with the target customer. I'd banged my head against the wall with them on similar points with far less success than Casey seemed to be casually having with them. I attributed it (in retrospect) to the degree to which he listened to them -- and more importantly -- left them with the impression of being heard -- that made him so effective in these situations. Even though I was the boss, many times I'd have Casey have the talk with them -- because his results were just so much better than mine.
** LEADERSHIP: Casey's a great leader, and in my opinion he represents the type of leadership that works better with people under the age of 40. He's mastered being effective without being forceful -- and that's quite a skill. I noticed that with younger workers -- who are entirely convinced they already know everything -- Casey was exceedingly influential. He led without making them feel forced. He brought them around in ways that made them get on board and stay on board. For some reason, people always felt like they could talk to him about anything -- and they didn't shut down with him. It was a great trait to have in a company where things were moving quickly.
Summary: Casey is extremely smart, personable, hardworking, conscientious and thoughtful.
I would rehire him in a minute if he lived in the Dallas area. He is a valuable resource to any company.
