SMTC is a mid-sized global contract manufacturer. Hired as General Manager/Director of Operations for the Milpitas site. The Milpitas site is the company’s flagship manufacturing facility (1,800 employees) and specializes in New Product Introductions (NPI) for startup organizations and sustaining accounts for Silicon Valley customers. Worked primarily with network security, ITAR, medical, industrial, and automotive customers. Provided PCBA, box build, test, and direct-order fulfillment services. Primary Responsibilities:• Led engineers, operations, program managers, facilities and supply chain, teams to develop, install, implement, and modify manufacturing systems and machines within the manufacturing operations.• Aligned software engineering teams and hardware teams on project scope, expectations, timelines, budget targets, and product changes. Drove these projects until completion while utilizing tools, such as Agile.• Led cross-functional teams to apply lean principles, to ensure executive project milestones are met, including quality standards, SOW requirements, health and safety requirements, and operational costs.• Analyzed data and metrics to track project progress and mitigate risks, including DFM/DFX analysis. Provided weekly status updates to site GM, customers, and corporate executives.• Developed documentation for projects, such as BRDs, RFQs, CAPEX justifications, and contractual terms.

Rehired by Flex to support its Flagship site in Silicon Valley, California. Managed a phenomenal team of planners, buyers, production control and inventory control specialists. Specifically, this team created a plan for the procurement of materials, sourced the materials required for the manufacturing, services, and RMA processes, maintained inventory levels to ensure that there was no stock shortage (or excess), created a distribution plan to ensure that materials were delivered to the production lines on time, and ensured that the materials were procured and managed in a cost-effective manner, while maintaining quality standards.

Hired by Flex (known as Flextronics at the time) to launch production of a major telecommunication company’s first-generation smart phone device. One of the first employees on this project - hired six months before production commenced. The project grew to 48 productions lines. Responsible for production planning, capacity planning, meeting customer demands, and customer reporting.

Managed daily functions of warehouse operations, including production planning and scheduling, materials management, inventory, shipping/receiving and reporting. Supervised up to 200 warehouse employees. Reported and supervised inventory management, cycle counts, shipments, production records and customer communications.
