About Casey Long

I’m an operations leader focused on team interoperability, quality, process improvement, and organizational change management.From 2014 to 2021 I led Salesforce implementations as a PM and Delivery Manager, from small-business QuickStarts to multi-million dollar projects across a range of industry verticals. This work has given me a foundation for understanding how business processes map onto technology, but also a keen sense of how a transformational change, like a Salesforce implementation, can impact a business beyond the confines of the project itself. In 2021 I made a pivot to internal operations work where I’ve focused on building for the builders, crafting process and tools for the people who build our clients’ processes and tools. During that time my focus has been to try to cultivate a set of first principles, process, and technology, that drive innovation and success. In the past 18 months we’ve implemented a standardized change management framework that is rigorous enough to increase our change success rate, but nimble enough to accommodate a still relatively small organization of ~60 people. We’ve published a standardized delivery methodology for all client engagements. And we’ve implemented a continuous performance management tool with OKRs as our backbone for goal setting and alignment.As the pace of change only quickens in the knowledge work economy, my passion and focus (obsession maybe?) is answering the following questions: - How do we build organizations strengthened, rather than threatened, by change?- How do we create an environment where the individual contributor, manager, director, and executive have a common and clear picture of what success looks like? - How do we get teams with disparate missions to collaborate efficiently and effectively?- How do we collapse the old silos of IT, HR, and business operations in a responsible way? (They’re collapsing on their own whether we like it or not)
