I am a Master's prepared CAPA-certified registered nurse at Riley Primary Care with Riley Children's Hospital. I also continue in a supplemental role as a staff registered nurse in Same Day Surgery Assessment (SDSA), and Anesthesia Pain Service (APS) at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. SDSA treats patients of all ages up to progressive levels of care. Our OR and endoscopy areas see patients of all specialties including neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, general, urology, and cardiothoracic. SDSA also recovers patients from endoscopy procedures. APS provides pain blocks to patients preoperatively and occasionally postoperatively. My role is to facilitate throughput and minimize gaps in OR time. In collaboration with the unit manager, I help manage the day-to-day operations of each unit by assigning nurses to specific areas, assisting in charge nurse duties and direct patient care, scheduling a staff of over 35 individuals, and quickly adapting to an ever-changing environment of a Level I Trauma Center.I graduated from WGU with an MSN in Leadership and Management in May 2020. I graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) in Indianapolis with my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in May 2014.I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in May 2011. My focus areas were Health Communication and Media Studies.
