I gathered case studies for affordable building technologies, diagrammed different prototypes for housing, and designed low-cost housing with Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans.

I designed and developed several different prototypes for low-income housing. The studio and I built housing prototype III in the Spring Semester of 2008. The design and building of housing prototype 3 was featured in a documentary, called Architecture School, on the Sundance Channel.

I studied how coastal cities in Europe, particularly Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Venice, Barcelona, and Bilbao, were affected by surrounding water and how they reacted to the conditions. The studio toured European Architecture firms, such as MVRDV, to learn what they were doing in response to sites like Borneo Sporenburg. I participated in a studio in which I applied what I had learned in Europe to the urban context of New Orleans and engaging the waterfront.
