*Integral part of the committee to investigate, research, and develop new goods and services to add to our ever-expanding product line, currently in excess of 6,000 distinct items, which also included living plants and beneficial insects.*Responsible for maintaining a 99% service level for over 5,000 products, generally between $900,000 and $1 million.*Analyze sales history reporting to cull underperforming items, and to assist in determining future sales projections.*Solely responsible for the purchase and inventory control of all items in the highly-seasonable product line. This also includes procuring many disparate ingredients and containers of numerous sizes to produce repackaged growing mediums, seed mixes, and dozens of other such in-house items.*Fully versed in the understanding and implementation of all applicable organic laws and requirements at both regional and federal levels, including NOP, OMRI and CDFA.*Logistically coordinate incoming product from numerous sites across California and surrounding states.*Regularly reconcile actual versus expected inventory quantities, both upon discovery and in response to the yearly physical inventory count.*Research and set prices for new items, and adjust pricing of existing products based on a multitude of factors.*Trained and supervised a team of three in their various responsibilities, as well as cross-trained members of other departments in limited purchasing duties.*Serve as liaison between vendors and internal departments regarding order status, inventory discrepancies, defective products, problem resolution, and alternative suppliers.*Oversee inventory level maintenance and product arrival within established lead time.*Created policy and procedure for many aspects of the position*Attend monthly managers’ meetings, as well as yearly conferences and trade shows as the company’s representative.*Monitor product sales inconsistencies, back ordered items, and cost changes.
