Senior Accountant
CurrentPerform full cycle accounting function, maintain general ledger, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for transportation and logistics companies• Process and record weekly financial transactions for transportation and logistics companies in an accurate and timely manner, which includes record budget accruals, revenue from different regions nationwide, W-2 employees payroll journal entries with various voluntary benefits deductions, 1099 contractors journal entries, 401K journal entries, workers’ compensation journal entries, various prepaid insurance accruals journal entries, truck insurance accruals journal entries, debit card and credit card transactions and inter-company transfers and transactions• Follow the month-end closing procedure and prepare consolidated financial statements in an accurate and timely manner, which includes reconciliations of 8 bank accounts, several credit card accounts reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, review AR and AP transactional details, accruals true up, group medical insurance account review, prepaid insurance spreadsheet review, fixed assets schedule review to ensure items are properly depreciated and recorded, review of various loan amortization schedules to ensure interests are properly recorded, and shareholder distribution accounts review• Maintain Chart of Accounts and General Ledger; Ensure books and financials are in accordance with GAAP; Review and research problem accounts, and reclass miscoded accounts during the month-end closing procedure• Follow the year-end closing procedure which includes clearing out termed employees' voluntary benefits balances, reviewing and writing off old uncleared checks, and safety bonus reconciliations; Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and send them to an accounting firm for preparing corporate tax return on year-end; Provide supporting documents and information to FP&A team and outside auditors
