A background in materials science, together with software development experience keeps my interest piqued in areas such as development, interoperability, ontologies, machine learning/artifical intelligence, and more, all in a (materials) science context.While I have several publications in high-impact journals, I prefer to manage development projects in teams, whose goal is science-related, and the means to get there are software-related.So far, I have had the pleasure to work with Prof. Bo B. Iversen's group in Aarhus, Denmark, Prof. Carlo Lamberti's group in Turin, Italy, Prof. Nicola Marzari's group in Lausanne, Switzerland, and through the latter representing EPFL in several major EU materials science software platform projects that include industry and academic institution partners from all around Europe. I am also involved in the OPTIMADE consortium as well as a parallel to the OPTIMADE effort, establishing a materials science database ontology.I have yet to join a team that I did not enjoy working with both in and out of the office and where making friends for life was impossible.It is always a pleasure to work together with talented individuals, either as the leader of a project or by filling in a necessary role, crucial for a successful delivery and end product.In my spare time I dabble in, to me new, branches of computer science, e.g., setting up a full stack for web development with a custom server for continuous deployment, expanding my knowledge of machine learnings approaches and algorithms, creating mobile applications for personal use, and more.I also enjoy advanced board games, playing guitar, badminton and scuba diving.
