My passion lies within mental health & suicide prevention advocacy, research & policy. After working 15 years as an registered nurse within the health sector & having gone through my own journey with both mental illness & suicidality, I realized that the health sector isn't always the answer & we needed to start looking outside the health sector for solutions. I now use this experience & knowledge to help improve services, systems, policies & procedures, educate the general public around mental health, & I ensure our voice is represented throughout anything that involves those with lived experience. My ultimate goal is to be a leader for others with lived experience through inspiration, encouraging others in the work they do & ensuring lived experience involvement is done right.I believe in creating authentic connections & empathy within this space because I believe we can work better together & elevate each other's lived experience.
