I'm an eager, creative, hard working person looking both for opportunities in queer youth-focused non-profit work, in professional writing work- both fiction and non-fiction.With over a decade of experience in youth-oriented non-profit agencies as both a client and an employee, I'm a young, open-minded person looking for opportunities in a field where I can be creative, work as part of a team, be connected with people, and where I can guide people in their journey to living lives as their authentic selves.I have experience with presenting workshops on subjects ranging from how to transition from a youth to a legally recognized adult, anti-oppression, gender education 101, and BDSM 101 just to name a few. My approach to presenting information is not "here's me teaching you something" but rather "we're all experts in our own experiences. My role is to work with you figure out how to best enable your experience to help you lead the best life possible.I'm here looking for opportunities in non-profit related work, as well as both creative and non-fction writing opportunities.I have previous experience- both paid and volunteer as a domestic violence and hate violence counselor, trans peer group facilitator, outreach coordinator for a small non-profit, sex positive event promoter, and I look forward to further opportunities for connecting with people and facilitating environments where people can be themselves. In addition to my passion for non-profit work, I'm also an avid writer, with my specialty being essays and short stories. Recently, what I've been writing most about are issues related to sexual freedom and consensual BDSM, and issues relevant to those whose gender identity falls within the queer and trans universe. What I love most of all about writing is that it gives me a greater latitude in ways of communicating with people than speaking does. I also find the exercise of putting my feelings and emotions in writing incredibly therapeutic.

Helped create a supportive environment for conversations about gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, transitioning...etc. When needed, I used active listening, problem solving and plan making skills to make sure group attendees would be safe. On occasions, I've also had to employ crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques I learned while working with other agencies to deal with potentially violent and volatile situations.
